Point and Shoot: It is time

I knew that I have skipped my Point and Shoot series for more than a week. It's mainly because I think that I've been playing safe too much. Yes that's the word, TOO MUCH.

Note: I know it's April 1 today and I'm totally NOT joking.

It's been a very good commitment on taking photos of any design related stuff in the streets, malls, establishments, etc. But I feel what is needed is not just photos showing what is good design but also presenting what is bad.

The Bad

Bad design is hard to differ when were still starting out in design related jobs. From freelance, outsourcing, normal day job, school work and many more. It's really really hard to differentiate both of them. Even I gets confused on which is good and bad design. For me, it's a day to day learning process. It's like comparing one print ad to another on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. Thus, we need to see the changes and differences day by day.

Design is subjective

One person may argue that a specific print ad is good and the other one is bad. I may also see it the other way around, what's good for all is already bad for me, vice versa. One way or the other, a design is made not to cater all. A design can only cater those who needed it.

Everyone have their own opinions. And this is one of my ways to show what is bad and what is good. This is a blog and I have opinions that anyone can argue with. A discussion is always welcomed, see the comment forms below? Hehe.

Conclusion

In the following posts for my Point and Shoot series, I'll be more descriptive, constructive and active. Of course I'll now begin showing off the photos that I feel disregards design as an important player for people's choices.

I'll TRY to start this Saturday with MyHotel Davao City.

Update

In writing Point and Shoot: MyHotel. I felt that I need more time making it much more balanced and informative to read. Better to wait than never ;) .
